"Louisa Clark is an ordinary girl living an exceedingly ordinary life - steady boyfriend, close family - who has barely been farther afield than her tiny village.  She takes a badly needed job working for ex-master of the universe Will Traynor, who is wheelchair-bound after an accident.  Will has always lived a huge life - big deals, extreme sports, worldwide travel - and he is not interested in exploring a new one.

Will is acerbic, moody, bossy - but Lou refuses to treat him with kid gloves, and soon his happiness means more to her than she expected.  When she learns Will has shocking plans of his own, Lou sets out to show him that life is still worth living.

Me Before you brings to life two people who couldn't have less in common - a heartbreaking romantic novel that asks, 'what do you do when making the person you love happy also means breaking your own heart?'


This book has been out for quite a while now yet it has somehow escaped me.  I've seen it on a few bookstagram feeds so when I found it on clearance at half-price books I added it to my pile.  It has since been made into a movie and there are two additional books to the series!~

This was a story that made me cry.  To feel something through the characters that I hadn't before.  Something I've no experience with and hope never to have either.  Two people whose paths cross for the right reason at the wrong time.  Or maybe even the wrong reason at the right time.  So different from one another until that shell breaks and they begin to know one another.  Then the story begins.  They didn't expect to find what they did and it changed both of their lives and those around them.

Many, many tears at the end.  So glad there are two additional books to move along to read!

The Last Romantics

⭐⭐⭐⭐ What a story ..and four star because five don't come that easily to me! Family drama, abandonment, love, loss and forgiveness fill this story that should not be remembered by the title.  Which was only the name of a blog written by an anonymous author.  This family grew apart and then in threads found a way back.  But like any cloth that's been severed, it was never the same strength, feel or look than the original.  Or was the original never that strong.

Hello, Sunshine

⭐⭐⭐ Audio book. I thoroughly enjoyed Eight Hundred Grapes by Laura Dave.  When I moved on the First Husband I thought, 'meh.'  And when I read Hello, Sunshine I was glad I found it on audio as it made for an entertaining listen.  Abeit light, it did entertain.  Loved the picturesque setting in the Hamptons and the summer lifestyle with hints of New York City.  Two books in a row for me where someone else's child had a profound impact on the protagonist.  Story of love, forgiveness, regret, friendship and acceptance. light as air, bright as sunshine!
